Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 September 2026 · Version privacy-2026-09-28-draft

Draft — pending legal review. This page describes how Mutually works today. It isn’t final, and it isn’t yet a binding document.

This is a working draft written by the Mutually team to describe how the product actually handles information. It has not yet been reviewed by counsel, and it is not a binding policy. The final version will replace it before we collect anyone’s details at scale.

Who we are

Mutually is a private network for thoughtful introductions. When this policy says "we", it means the company that runs Mutually. You can reach us at support@mutually.lol.

What we collect

  • If you join the list: your email address, and — only if you choose to give it — where you’re based and your time zone. We use these to confirm your address and to write to you, at a sensible hour, when there’s room.
  • If you become a member: your phone number and email (for signing in and verification), a date of birth (to confirm you’re 18 or over), photos, what you tell our interviewer, and the preferences you choose.
  • If someone invites you to describe them: your name or nickname as they entered it, a way to reach you, and what you choose to write or record about them.
  • When you use Mutually: the introductions you’re part of, your private decisions, messages, plans and debriefs, plus basic technical records (such as device type and sign-in times) that keep accounts secure.

What we never do

  • We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t show ads.
  • We don’t let anyone browse or search the network.
  • We don’t show your private decisions to anyone else unless an introduction becomes mutual.

Sensitive information

Faith, health and orientation are only collected with your explicit consent. They’re used only to find introductions, and you can delete them on their own at any time.

Who can see what

  • What your circle wrote: each person who describes you chooses whether their words are shared with you, used privately to help find introductions, paraphrased, or shown with their name.
  • Your photos: only ever seen inside an introduction.
  • Your yes or no: never shown to anyone unless both people say yes.

Service providers

We use carefully chosen providers to host data, send email and text messages, verify phone numbers, protect forms from bots, and — with your permission — measure which pages help. They process information only on our instructions.

How long we keep things

  • Unconfirmed waitlist entries are deleted after 30 days.
  • If you leave the list, your entry is deleted immediately and we keep only a one-way fingerprint of the address so we never email it again.
  • If you delete your account, everything — including what your circle wrote — is gone within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep a record.

Your choices and rights

You can see, download, correct or delete your information from Settings, or by writing to support@mutually.lol. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms. We use one analytics cookie only if you allow it. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Changes

When this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll tell members in the app before the change takes effect.

We’d rather introduce you well than introduce you often.

Mutually is invite-only while the network grows, one circle at a time.

The list isn’t open yet.

We’re inviting a few people at a time. If someone invited you, open the link in their message.
